I used Crest whitening strips and they work just fine, but they are rather expensive. I did a little research and discovered that the main ingredient is nothing more than peroxide. So I went out and bought bicarbonate of soda and peroxide. Now I make a paste with that every day and brush my teeth and it whitens them just as well, freshens my breath, removes plaque and tartar and I save lots of money.
